1866 (12 Apr.) blue envelope to Philadelphia "via Marseilles" bearing 4c. (2), 24c. and 96c. grey-black cancelled by "B62", straight-line handstamp "insufficiently prepaid ..." with "3/6" changed to "5/4", the letter having been rerated "84" cents; with London Paid c.d.s. (28.5) and Philadelphia arrival (11.6). The reverse with part Shanghai c.d.s. in blue and Hong Kong (12.4) c.d.s. The stamps have slight faults and the cover slightly trimmed at top. The envelope is marked at left "Kiu Kiang, China, April 4 1866". An interesting, underpaid quadruple 53c. rate
