1877 (19 Apr.)Hancock envelope to Peking, bearing 2d. blue plate 15 with 1873-80 6d. grey plate 15 tied by Lurgan duplex, underpaid with a superb strike of handstruck "T" and various charge marks in blue crayon. Redirected to Ningpo (probably from Hong Kong), the reverse bears Hong Kong (29.5) and a fine strike of the British P.O. Ningpo c.d.s. (5.6) in blue, type B with index "A". A rare Ningpo postmark on this famous correspondence. Photo
