World War 2 Disrupted Routes, To Australia and New Zealand via Calcutta: 1944-45 a group of covers with 1944 (19 May) to Camegie bearing $10 franking tied by Lijiang, Yunnan dotted c.d.s. with censor seal at side; pays $4 surface plus twice $3 air. 1944 (4 June) envelope to Sydney bearing $7 franking tied by Chungking c.d.s. with censor seal at side, pays the single franking. 1944 (25 July) envelope registered to Sydney bearing, on the reverse, $28 franking tied by Kunming c.d.s. with the registration label on the address side and censor seal, overpays five times air rate. 1945 (14 Sept.) envelope registered to New Zealand bearing, on the reverse, $40 franking tied by Chungking c.d.s. with the registration label on the address side and censor seal, overpays eight times air rate.
