1938 (August 9) North China Liberated Area, Chin-Cha-Ki Border Area (Yang NC3-4), two imperforate White Full Sun of Nationalist China 1c dull purple horizontal strips of five and two 5c reddish brown horizontal pairs used on piece with Hopei Lingshan cds and Hopei Shaho datestamps, extremely rare multiples and most desirable, in particular the 5c pairs, a magnificent early Liberated Area item, postmarked eight months before N C Yang’s illustrated 1c strip of five cover, a high caliber exhibition piece, has been safeguarded in the hands of a renowned collector for the past six decards, ex Hu San.
