Malta 1965-70 Issue 1/6d. complete pane of 60 from Plate 1A/2A with gold (centre) omitted, twice folded and with some very minor tone spots on reverse in selvedge. Pierron MC684MCa, £4,250; S.G. 342b, £3,000 Estimate £ 1,000-1,200 Note: Two gold ink plates were used for the printing of the stamps, the right most plate number relating to the centre detail. The error is known in two complete sheets of 60 (normally 1A–1A–2A–1A–1A–1A) missing 1A referencing gold (from the centre of the design). In addition to complete panes being affected, the error is known to have occurred on the top row only of two sheets.
