Malta 1965-70 Issue 8d. complete pane of 60 from Plate 1A with gold (centre) omitted, central horizontal fold, fine. Pierron MA678MCa, £5,000; S.G. 339a, £2,520 Estimate £ 1,200-1,500 Note: Two gold ink plates were used for the printing of the stamps, the right most plate number relating to the centre detail. The error is known in two complete sheets and a plate block (normally 1A–1A–1A–1A–1A–1A) missing 1A referencing gold (from the centre of the design). It is also known in an intact sheet and two plate blocks (normally 1A–1A–2A–1A–1A–1A) missing 1A referencing gold.
