Malaysia — Birds 50c. with gum arabic and with PVA gum, both showing scarlet omitted, fine. With normal for comparison. Pierron MY 44MCa, MY45MCa, £250; S.G. 22c, £200 Estimate £ 60-80 Note: The missing scarlet results in the loss of inscription and affects the berries. The error on PVA gum can be readily differentiated from the error on gum arabic by the very obvious difference in gum colour – PVA is white while arabic is cream coloured. The error is known in a plate block (normally 1B–1B–1B–1B) missing scarlet.
