Air Mechanic 1st Class Lawrence Easton Wood, born Shoreditch, London, 1881; enlisted Royal Naval Air Service, 6.12.1915; service included at Otranto, Italy, 14.4.1917-21.5.1918; this was in fact know as the Otranto Barrage, which was designed by the Allies to prevent enemy submarines access to the Mediterranean via the Adriatic; transferred Royal Air Force, 1.4.1918; served at Howden Airship Station, 28.5.1918-23.1.1919; discharged 30.4.1920.
