Billinge. 18-Hrs.), extremely fine (3) Estimate £ 180-220 925 Private Herbert Alfred Billinge, born West Ham, London, April 1886; served with the 18th Hussars on the Western Front from 17.8.1914; killed in action at the Battle of Frezenberg Ridge, 13.5.1915, when the 18th Hussars, as part of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade, were shelled out of their front line, suffering 21 killed, 109 wounded and 24 missing; Billinge is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
