S.A.L.H.) b) Queen´s South Africa 1899-1902, six clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Laing´s Nek, Belfast, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902, the two date clasps loose on riband as issued (1713 Tpr: D. Cochrane S.A. Lt. Horse), nearly extremely fine (2) Estimate £ 2,500-3,000 D.C.M. London Gazette 27.9.1901; recommendation submitted to the King 8.8.1901 (Army Order 15 of 1902). 1713 Trooper David Cochrane, D.C.M., was twice Mentioned in Despatches, firstly in Buller´s despatch of 19.6.1900 (London Gazette 8.2.1901), in which he is noted as having ´rendered good and valuable service´; and secondly in Robert´s despatch of 2.4.1901 (London Gazette 16.4.1901) for ´meritorious service´. 1 of 12 D.C.M.´s to the South African Light Horse for the Boer War.
