Indian Mutiny 1857-58, no clasp (Captn. T,A, Corbett. 61st Regt. N.I.), lacquer marks, nearly extremely fine Estimate £ 340-380 Lieutenant-Colonel Toovey Archibald Corbett (1826-1918), born Walthamstow, Essex; served with the left wing 61st N.I. against insurgents in Bundecund, 1843-44; Lieutenant 1845; his regiment mutinied at Jullunder, 7.6.1857, and as a consequence Corbett served during the Mutiny in Bengal 1857, and in the Punjab and Central India, 1858; he was attached to the Saugor Field Force and several Flying Columns in the capacity of Assistant Commissioner during operations in the Jaloun District, and on the Staff of the Brigadier commanding; advanced Lieutenant-Colonel 1866; at the time of his death Lieutenant-Colonel Corbett was one of the last surviving veterans of the Indian Mutiny.
