Standen.), light contact marks, good very fine Estimate £ 320-360 Deputy Commissary General David Standen was commissioned in the Commissariat Department, 1847; served during the 3rd Kaffir War, 1850-53, and advanced to Deputy Assistant Commissary General, January 1853; remained serving in this capacity in the Cape of Good Hope, advancing to Deputy Commissary General (rank equivalent to Major), February 1870.
