Sierra Leone Sulymah 1889 (31 July) envelope, complete with long letter from Teo. M. Gardiner at "Grand Cape Mount St. Johns Mission" to Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A. bearing 1884-91 2d. grey pair sharing a legible strike of the "post office/sulymah/sierra leone" oval-framed handstamp in red, Paid Liverpool Br. Packet c.d.s. (24.8) at left, the reverse with a fine strike of the "sulymah/sierra leone" c.d.s. (31.7) in red across flap, indistinct Freetown c.d.s. and Louisville c.d.s. (8.9); the envelope with some soiling though very rare. Also 1889 3d. yellow with a fine, virtually complete, strike of the oval h.s. in red. S.G. 30. Photo Estimate £ 2,500-3,000
