Sierra Leone 1898 (4 Jan.) unstamped envelope from Freetown to England, marked "2 1/2d" and showing a good strike of the "official pre-paid/freetown sierra leone" oval-framed d.s. in red with year date altered to "8" in manuscript, the reverse with Liverpool Br. Packet (19.1) and Reading (20.1) c.d.s.; the envelope a little creased though unusual as apparently accepted in the U.K. as unpaid though not charged. Photo Estimate £ 300-350
