Sierra Leone 1888 (11 Apr.) envelope registered to Germany, bearing 1884-91 1/2d. dull green, 1 1/2d. pale violet and 4d. brown in combination with Stamp Duty 1d. lilac and green, all cancelled "B31", showing "R" in oval h.s., Liverpool (2.5) and London (3.5) Registered oval d.s., the reverse with fancy sender´s cachet, Freetown and Munich (4.5) c.d.s.; the envelope with light fold which crosses the 1d. value though an attractive and an unusual acceptance of the Stamp Duty adhesive for postal use.
