Sénégal Rufisque 1887 (9 May) envelope registered Via Liverpool (but actually sent Via Marseilles) to Transvaal, bearing French Colonies General issues 1881-86 5c. and 20c. pairs with "rufisque senegal" cancellations, red boxed "r" handstamp, on reverse "registered letter office cape town" datestamp of 16 June and on the front taxed by Bakker Express Co. 1/2d. Postage Due label with boxed "waterberg/e.c." cancellation; the envelope with a small surface scuff, otherwise fine and extremely rare. R.P.S. Certificate (1969). S.G. 48.
