The Oil Rivers Protectorate Stamps of The Protectorate used in the Oil Rivers Protectorate Bonny River 1892 (7 Dec.) envelope (230x103mm.) "Via Liverpool" to Capt. Taylor of the 27th. Cheshire Regiment at Belguam, India, bearing 1892-94 1/2d. vermilion pair, 1d. lilac pair and 2d. green and carmine each neatly cancelled with "bonny river" Code C c.d.s. and with a superb strike of the "oil rivers protectorate/bonny" triple-oval d.s. (Sacher Type 7) in violet at lower left corner alongside Paid Liverpool Br. Packet c.d.s. (17.1), the reverse with Sea Post Office (1.2) and Belgaum (date unclear) c.d.s.
