Lagos 1887 (13 May) mourning envelope to Italy, "6" accountancy mark in red crayon and bearing 1884-86 4d. pale violet vertical pair each cancelled with oval of nine bars (the earliest known date of use for this thinner bar obliterator), indistinct despatch c.d.s. at foot and with Paid Liverpool Br. Packet c.d.s. (8.6) at left, Florence arrival c.d.s. (11.6) on reverse; some foxing around the pair, otherwise sound and an unusual double rate franking. S.G. 24. Photo Estimate £ 150-200
