Gold Coast Mail Sent Via German Services 1895 (25 May) envelope to Chungking, China, bearing 1884-91 2 1/2d. ultramarine and orange (corner defect) neatly cancelled with "deutsche seepost/linie/hamburg/westafrika/i." oval d.s. (Type G10) and, on arrival, franked with Chungking Postage Due 2c. pink cancelled with "chungking" bi-lingual boxed d.s. (2.9) with a further strike alongside, the reverse with Hong Kong (31.7), Shanghai (5.8) and Hangkow (9.8) c.d.s., the last in blue; the envelope partially truncated at top and with a central vertical crease, nevertheless a remarkable and very rare cover sent eastbound without carriage to Europe en route.
