Gold Coast Accra 1884 (23 Jan.) front to Lt. Governor Griffith in Lagos, rated "2 1/2" in red crayon and bearing 1876-84 1d. blue bisected diagonally and 2d. green, both cancelled "554", showing "accra" Code C c.d.s. (Type 2) and Lagos arrival c.d.s. (11.2) alongside; traces of minor foxing in places, otherwise fine and very rare, being one of only eight examples recorded of this bisect and one of only three recorded during the 2 1/2d. period.
