Gambia 1888 (24 Aug.) 1oz. double rate envelope (opened-out) registered from Bathurst to Sierra Leone, rated "8" in red crayon and bearing 1880-81 CC comb perf. 1d. and 2d. in combination with 1886-93 1/2d., 2 1/2d. and 4d. each cancelled with "gambia/c/paid" c.d.s. and with "R" in oval at lower left corner, the reverse (seal cut away) with Freetown arrival c.d.s. (27.8) in red; the envelope with a few small imperfections though an attractive five-colour correct rate franking. S.G. 12, 13, 21, 26, 31. Photo Estimate £ 150-200
