British East Africa 1891-95 Provisionals 1895 (16 Jan.) " 1/2 anna" initialled "T.E.C.R." on 3a. black on dull red, an L-shaped block of three, a strip of three, a pair and a single, some marginal, all neatly cancelled with Mombasa c.d.s. and tied on large part 1891 (2 July) envelope to Zanzibar, the reverse with a further despatch c.d.s. and arrival c.d.s. (3.7); one stamp with perfs. trimmed of at right, otherwise fine. Rare. Also three loose singles with datestamps in February (2) and May. S.G. 31, £600+.
