National Bank of Egypt, specimen/trial £100, ND, issued under the Decree of 25 June 1898, black, red and multicoloured, camels and Arabs at centre, the pyramids in background, value in black tablet at centre, value at left and right, ornate background detail, reverse green, orange and blue, value at centre, very ornate spirographic detail in background, also two separate reverses, one in in red , yellow and green, one in blue , orange and green with different spirographic designs , also two partial proof obverses in black and white with Bank title and background detail and a reverse in black and white (Pick unrecorded), printed by Whitehead, Morris and Co. Ltd, London althought the printers name is obscured by pencil line. The note is slightly reminiscent of the style of Bradbury Wilkinson who were printing notes for the National Bank of Egypt at the time so this presumably a trial to attract the printing contract for the National Bank. Most attractive and probably unique. Estimate £ 12,000-15,000
