Wheatley does not appear upon the 1st Battalion Essex Regiment medal roll. A ´´5281 Private S. Wheatley´´ does appear on the roll and is listed as entitled to a six clasp medal, including ´´Relief of Kimberley´´ clasp. However this medal appears entirely as issued.
