Imperial British East Africa Company´s Medal 1888-95, edge engraved in upright sans-serif capitals, ´Private Merjan Hicks.´, with scroll suspension, suspension claw tightened, but now loose, light contact marks, otherwise good very fine and rare Estimate £ 600-800 No roll exists listing the awards authorised by the Imperial British East Africa Company, however a provisional roll of 29 names was compiled by Lieutenant-Colonel MacFarlane in 1980. This roll, which includes Private Merjan Hicks, was based on known medals and post-1895 authorisations. Provenance: Baldwin September 1968
