China 1857-60, two clasps, Canton 1857, Fatshan 1857 (William Shaw), privately engraved in large serif capitals, suspension re-affixed, nearly very fine Estimate £ 120-150 Ordinary Seaman William Shaw, born Cork, Ireland, May 1836; served in H.M.S. Hornet during the Second China War; discharged, July 1859. Three William Shaws appear on the Naval Roll for China; however, only one William Shaw has this clasp entitlement.
