Crimea 1854-56, two clasps, Azoff, Sebastopol (Hugh Jones. Captn´s Mate), officially impressed, minor edge bruise, good very fine Estimate £ 350-400 Hugh Jones sometime served in H.M.S. Wasp, as Captain of the Mizen Top and Captain of the Mast, 12.10.1852-7.1.1856. Naval Medals 1793-1856 by K. Douglas-Morris provides a provisional roll of impressed Crimea medals to the Navy that are known to have survived. On this provisional roll ´´Hugh Jones´´ is listed as being entitled to a no clasp medal. The two clasp medal listed above, however, appears entirely as issued.
