R.M.L.I., H.M.S. Perseus.); 1914-15 Star (Ply.14718. Pte. F.H. Webb. R.M.L.I.); British War and Victory Medals (Ply. 14718 Pte. F.H. Webb. R.M.L.I.); Naval Long Service & G.C., G.V.R., 1st ´Admiral´s bust´ type (Ply. 14718 F.H. Webb. Mne. R.M.), worn, good fine (5) Estimate £ 200-250 14718 Private Frank Henry Webb, born Nailsea, Bristol, Somerset, 1890; enlisted Royal Marine Light Infantry, 1908; service included in H.M.S. Perseus, 24.2.1913-1.7.1913; service during the Great War included with H.M.S. Lion, 29.9.1914-26.10.1917, and with whom he served at the battle of Dogger Bank, 24.1.1915, when she was Vice Admiral Beatty´´s flag ship for the action; as part of the 1st Battlecruiser Squadron for the battle the Lion took so much damage from the engagement with the German force that she was out of action for nearly 4 months; Webb was paid prize bounty for the action; he also would have served in her at the battle of Jutland, 31.5.-1.6.1916, Webb later transferred to the Royal Fleet Reserve before joing the R.M.P., from whom he was finally discharged, 26.2.1938.
