Swiftsure.), ship partially officially corrected on last, generally very fine or better  (2)   Estimate £   400-440    197231 Able Seaman David George Perkins, served in H.M.S. Orlando during the Third China War, before serving as Able Seaman in H.M.S. Swiftsure, in whom he saw service in the Persian Gulf and during the Great War (entitled to 1914-15 Star trio); he died of asphyxiation caused by gas fumes, 6.6.1915, whilst on operations in the Dardanelles (a Petty Officer H.B. Tucker is recorded as having died in H.M.S. Swiftsure of the same cause on the same date); Perkins is commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial; his N.G.S. was sent to the recipient´´s father George Perkins, 23.5.1916.
