The Reverend John Daggett Rainforth educated at the University of London (B.A. 1889) and the University of Durham (B.D. 1907); Ordained Deacon, 1903; Priest, 1904; Commissioned Chaplain to the Forces 4th Class, 28.8.1915. 92744 Driver James Lennox Torrance born Paisley, Glasgow; served with the 100th Battery, Royal Field Artillery during the Great War; died 29.10.1918, and is buried in St. Pol British Cemetery, France. 8323 Private Alfred Ring born Birmingham; served with the 2nd Battalion, Coldstream Guards during the Great War; died of wounds, 7.5.1916, and is buried in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium. 64845 Private David McGowan born Muirkirk, Ayr; served with the 72nd Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps during the Great War; killed in action, 17.6.1917, and is buried in Dickebusch New Military Cemetery Extension, Belgium. 1231 Private William Young served with the 16th Battalion, Australian Infantry during the Great War; killed in action, 18.8.1915, and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Turkey.
