x A ´Jameson Raid´ Group of Three to Captain F.E. Eastwood, Royal Irish Rifles, Late British South Africa Police, Mashonaland Mounted Police and Rhodesia Horse Volunteers, He Was Severely Wounded Near Marandellas, 29.7.1896, During the Operations in Rhodesia British South Africa Company Medal 1890-97, for Rhodesia 1896, one clasp, Mashonaland 1897 (Lieut. F.E. Eastwood. M.R.F.); Queen´s South Africa 1899-1902, one clasp, Rhodesia (Lieut. F.E. Eastwood, B.S.A. Police); King´s South Africa 1901-02, two clasps (Lt. F.E. Eastwood. B.S.A. Police.), top lugs removed from last two, minor edge bruising, therefore very fine, with photographic image of recipient as part of a group photograph of the Southern Rhodesia Volunteers (3) Estimate £ 1,000-1,200 Captain Francis Eastwood Eastwood, son of Major F.E. Eastwood of Castledown, Dundalk, Ireland; took part in the Jameson Raid, 29.12.1895-2.1.1896, whilst as a Trooper in the M.M.P. Artillery; served as Lieutenant Matabeleland Relief Force Corps in Rhodesia, 24.3. - 31.12.1896, and was severely wounded during these operations, near Marandellas, 29.7.1896; served as Lieutenant Rhodesia Horse Volunteers in Mashonaland operations, 24.3.1896-31.10.1897; served with the B.S.A. Police during the Second Boer War, and was attached as a Temporary Captain with the Service Battalions K.R.R.C.; appointed J.P. for Southern Rhodesia, 28.9.1903; served during the Great War as a Temporary Captain with the 6th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles, from 23.9.1914, and served in the Gallipoli theatre of War, from 1.1.1915; transferred King´´s Royal Rifle Corps (entitled to 1914-15 Star trio); he died, 28.8.1932, whilst residing at 14 Old Shoreham Road, Hove.
