Light Dragoons.), minor edge bruising, good very fine, with original steel clip and later ring suspension Estimate £ 1,600-2,000 Sergeant William Brearley, born Lancashire, 1784; enlisted in the 11th Light Dragoons, April 1801; present at the Battle of Salamanca during the Peninsula War, 22.7.1812; served in Captain J.A. Schreiber´´s Troop during the Waterloo Campaign; discharged February 1819, after 17 years and 320 days with the Colours. Sergeant Brearley lived to claim his Military General Service Medal with clasps for Salamanca.
