x A Superb M.G.S. and Waterloo Pair Sergeant J. Henderson, 52nd Foot, Who Was Wounded at Badajoz and St. Sebastian Military General Service 1793-1814, twelve clasps, Corunna, Busaco, Fuentes D´Onor, Ciudad Rodrigo, Badajoz, Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nivelle, Nive, Orthes, Toulouse (James Henderson, 52nd Foot.); Waterloo 1815 (Serj. James Henderson 1st Batt. 52nd Reg. Foot.), with original steel clip and split ring suspension, light contact marks overall, therefore very fine (2) Estimate £ 4,800-5,200 Sergeant James Henderson born Glasgow, Scotland, 1782; enlisted 52nd Foot, 1804; served in Captain Mein´´s Company during the Peninsular War and ´´wounds received at Badajoz and St. Sebastian 31st August 1813. Gun shot wound in left arm and hand, and left thigh´´ (Service Papers refer); Henderson despite being recorded as wounded at St. Sebastian appears not to have claimed what would have been his 13th clasp; Sergeant 1815, and served in Captain D. Campbell´´s Company at the battle of Waterloo; discharged 1816.
