Barbados 1878 (28 Mar.) "1D." on half 5/- dull rose, large numeral "1", 7mm. high with curved serif, and large letter "D", 2 3/4mm. high, an unsevered pair with surcharge reading up, well-centred and of fresh colour and with part original gum; 4mm. tear at lower right corner which barely affects the appearance of this very rare and desirable pair, of which so few are known.
