Cape of Good Hope 1863-64 De La Rue Printings 1d. deep carmine-red on paper watermarked Crown CC, a pair of this trial printing showing the watermark sideways, deep rich colour and sharp impressions on bright paper with large margins all round and with part original gum; suspicion of a very small thin, otherwise very fine. One of the great rarities of the Cape of Good Hope and an outstanding showpiece with outstanding provenance. R.P.S. Certificate (1980).
