Tristan da Cunha 1917 (23 Jan.) envelope to England showing a fine strike of the double-ring "tristan/da/cunha" S.G. Type 1 cachet in dull violet, the reverse with pencil notation "Dated Jan 23-1917/Received 8-3-18" and almost certainly carried on the Barque "Michelet" which didn´t call at the island until 11 September 1917!; the envelope with small repair at upper right corner clear of the handstamp.
