Mauritius The "cancelled" Obliterators In August 1861 the printers, Perkins, Bacon & Co., provided six examples of each stamp in their possession to Ormond Hill (eldest son of Sir Rowland Hill) for members of the family. These fascinating stamps and the story behind their appearance, have been fully described by Peter Jaffé in his book "Cancelled". 1858-62 no value, blue [2] from the vertical block of six, part original gum and with clear to large margins, fresh bright colour.
