Regents Canal, certificate for 1 share, no.4449, 1817 over 1812, black on vellum; together with related transfer certificate, 18(18), black, also printed on vellum, both have been mounted on the reverse and have some glue residue, light discolouration of the vellum as usual but very fine. Work began on the canal in 1812, named after the Prince Regent (later George IV), and it´s course was from the River Thames at Limehouse, through the City and to North West London joining the Grand Junction Canal at Paddington.
