A fine collection of 35 specimen bonds issued by the British Government from 1916 through to 1934. The collection, at some time in the possession of the Treasury were found recently amongst some papers and are being offered for sale for the first time. All British Government issues are rare as all loans have been repaid. There have been a handful of cancelled 1932 3 1/2% War Loan bonds on the market but no other issues have been seen to our knowledge. We have certainly never seen any uncancelled bonds. A few specimens of the US issues of 1916/17 were present in the American Bank Note Company archive sales which have been disposed of over the last few years. The bonds are individually catalogued as lots 326 to 360 in our printed catalogue. Estimate £ 13,000-14,000
