Cape of Good Hope Covers and Cancellations 1888 (15 Feb.) envelope (opened-out, some faults) from Wellington to New Haven, Conn., bearing 1/2d. grey, 1d. rose-carmine and 2d. bistre strip of three lightly cancelled "34" and with Wellington c.d.s. alongside and additionally tying the 1/2d. value, "2 1/2d" accountancy handstamp in red below, the reverse with Cape Town (15.2), London (16.5), New York and arrival (25.3) d.s.; 1888 (9 Mar.) envelope from Cape Town to Winoma, Minn., bearing 1/2d. grey (defective), 1d. rose-carmine and 6d. lilac twice cancelled with squared-circle d.s. and showing "2 1/2d" accountancy handstamp in red alongside, the reverse with London (13.4), New York (15.4) and arrival c.d.s.
