Cape of Good Hope Covers and Cancellations 1872 (14 June) O.H.M.S. envelope (flap missing) from Cape Town to "New Rush De Beer´s Diamond Fields", showing a fine intaglio seal handstamps of The Secretary to the High Commissioner and with Cape Town despatch c.d.s. alongside. Fine and rare. Photo Estimate £ 400-500 Note: At this time the Griqua territory was in dispute as the diamond diggers had set up an independent republic. The territory became a Crown Colony in June 1873
