Great Britain Line Engraved 1840 One Penny Black Plate VII BI, good to large margins all round, tied on 1840 (23 Dec.) entire by a fair strike of the Maltese Cross in magenta, additionally tied by "Poulton/Penny Post" in black, reverse with Preston c.d.s.; light vertical filing folds (one of which just touches but does not crease the adhesive at left); fine.
