Great Britain Used Abroad Crimea 1841-53 1d. red-brown, Plate 165, RL-TL, vertical strip of three (TL close or just touched at left), tied to piece by two strikes of the rare "Crown between Stars" cancellation, the piece endorsed "From the Black Sea Fleet/H.M.S. Terrible/Via Marseilles" and (in another hand) "Kwa River Oct. 18... Nov. 6 1854"; small wrinkles but an extraordinary piece. Rare. (S.G. Z1) Photo Estimate £ 1,500-2,000
