Great Britain Illustrated and Printed Envelopes 1876-1900(c.), a volume, the title page inscribed "Robert Ponsonby´s letters, 1876-1900, from his friend R.W. Vernon", containing 104 envelope fronts and 8 part letter inserts, all with amusing hand-illustrated scenes, mostly in pen and ink though a few in watercolour, mostly addressed to Ponsonby in London (with twelve addressed to him at St. Jame´s Palace) and bearing 1d. values, a few from overseas addresses (Italy and Norway). Condition a little mixed but a colourful and most appealing assembly Estimate £ 1,200-1,500
