France 1874 (15 May), envelope sent registered and insured with manuscript "Deux mille Deux cent cinquante francs", bearing 1871-76 5c. green, 30c. brown and 1869 5fr. grey-violet, all tied by neat "2188" petit chiffres of Le Mans; some edge tears on opening at top.
