Transvaal 1880 (Mar., June and Aug.) envelopes ex the same correspondence "From 2525 Pte. J. Barnett" to Ireland, each countersigned by the Commanding Officer of the 21st. Royal Scots Fusiliers and bearing 1878 1d. brown-red (Mar. and June) or 3d. dull rose (Aug.), the latter possibly applied in error being not dissimilar in colour to the 1d. value, each cancelled with target "1", the first with "1d" charge mark, the other two with different size Pretoria c.d.s and Cape Town c.d.s. on face, various transit c.d.s. on reverse; all with defects though an interesting trio Estimate £ 250-300
