Infantry" at Rangoon to England, countersigned by the Commanding Officer and bearing 1a. brown cancelled "B/156", showing framed "india paid" h.s., Paid London c.d.s. (15.2) and, on reverse (flap torn) "rangoon/ship letter/paid" boxed d.s. and light Rangoon and York c.d.s.; an early example of the compulsory pre-payment of postage on letters from India.
