Afghanistan 1st. Afghan War, 1838-42 1840 (12 May) deep blue-green paper entire letter "From Private James Webb 5th. Company 1st. Bengal European Regiment" at Camp Kudjah to London, countersigned by the Commanding Officer and with manuscript "4" rate mark on face, the reverse with Loodiana Free oval d.s., framed Calcutta Ship Letter d.s. (3.6), London "ship letter" and d.s. (date unclear). The only known soldiers letter from Camp Kudjah.
