Tasmania Covers and Cancellations First Allocation Numerals "68", Hobart: 1857 (22 Oct.) blue envelope to Beechworth, Ovens, Victoria, bearing 1857-69 4d. pale blue oily impression with margins in places and lightly cancelled "68", showing General Post Office Hobart c.d.s. in red and oval "advertised/and/unclaimed" h.s. at left, "ship letter/free/g.p.o. victoria" and Beechworth (31.10) oval d.s. on reverse, and 1860 (May) entire letter to Launceston, bearing 1857-69 4d. pale blue with margins mainly all round and cancelled with superb "74", Pre-Paid c.d.s. on face and boxed d.s. on reverse; also unclearly dated envelope (creases and other faults) addressed locally and bearing 1857-69 4d. pale blue with margins on three sides and cancelled with fine "74", Pre-Paid c.d.s. at foot Estimate £ 180-200
