Antoine de Lomenie, Secretary of State, c.1630, cast bronze medal in the style of Guillaume Dupré, bearded bust right, wearing high ruff and a coat with fur-trimmed collar, rev. a figure standing in a landscape, his head supported by a staff resting under his chin, gazes up towards divine light from heaven, Fame, flying at right, crowns him with a palm, beaded borders, 52mm. (T.N.II, XVII, I), very fine with an attractive brown patina, the portrait particularly pleasing Estimate £ 200-250 Antoine de Lomenie de la Ville-aux-Clercs (1570-1638), Secretary of State and French Ambassador to London.
